Dean's Weekender: St. Patrick's Day celebrations & more CHICAGO - It's one of the Windy City's favorite weekends as many don the green in celebration of St. Patrick's Day!While March 17 is still a week away, Chicago will celebrate this weekend with a few events on both sides of town along with the loop. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A person was pronounced dead on the scene of a crash on FM 969 near Regency Drive. Austin-Travis County EMS tweeted at 6:48 a.m. that an adult patient was pronounced dead on scene. The person was reportedly struck by a vehicle, according to the tweet. No other patients were involved. The Austin Police Department has the nearby area blocked off. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.

Schuylerville rapist jailed for failing to register BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Saratoga County man, who raped a 13-year-old girl in 2017, was sentenced to five months behind bars on Wednesday for failing to register as a sex offender. Bounds III, 37, was accused of having sex with the teen, who was too young to legally consent. He was charged at the time with felony counts of second-degree rape, second-degree criminal sexual act, and misdemeanor sexual abuse. Bounds III was sentenced in April 2018 to three years in state prison. Once he was released, he moved to Milton, where police say he failed to register as a sex offender—a felony offense.
